The Mesh Constraint
The single most important thing to mark on a trucker template.
Mesh is an open structure. A needle passes through the gaps rather than anchoring, and stitching distorts the mesh around it, so embroidery is not possible.

The Colorway Split
Trucker colorways are described front-to-back, so Navy/White means a navy front with a white mesh back.

- Flatter. Less curvature than a fabric crown, so a wide design distorts less at the edges.

The Brim as a Placement
Frequently ignored on trucker templates and genuinely usable.
A trucker brim is flat, accessible and free of seams, which makes it one of the easier surfaces on the hat to decorate. The constraint is shape rather than difficulty.
Three practical points.
- The usable area is a shallow band. Around three quarters of an inch to an inch tall, and two to three inches wide on the upper surface.
- Horizontal content only. A short word, a year, a small icon. Anything stacked will not fit.
- The underside is larger. A crescent roughly seven to eight inches across, which suits patterns and hidden details.
For a program already using the front panel, the brim is a second placement that costs a separate setup and adds a genuinely different element rather than repeating the logo.
On a curved brim the surface bends, so keep brim designs compact and centered. On a flat brim the full band is usable.

- Set the document in inches.
- Mark the front panel at true dimensions for the specific front type.

- Inset a quarter-inch safe area on every side.
